Tuesday evening, week 4 - A message.
Date: 2020-02-19 01:23 am (UTC)[ Can you tell he wasn't a phone person? ]
If I feel like reaching out to you, we should be speaking face to face. Come and see me tonight. Or whenever.
[ Then he'll hang up. Sorry he's like this. ]

Date: 2020-02-19 03:38 am (UTC)[Getting hung up on like this was pretty confusing; he's trying to be perky but there's no time to get a polite word in edgewise. Honestly if he weren't keeping such a customer service attitude he'd consider it outright annoying. But about ten minutes later, Hiyori wanders out, in that new dark purple tie over his dress shirt and suit slacks. He is holding the ice rod in his left hand and the fire rod in his right. He looks like a lost cosplayer after dark at the con. He just figures that McBurn will be at his own house if he could make a call from the phone?]
...we already took off the jackets but we shouldn't be out without these things, so there's nowhere else to carry them. Ugh, if I've got to kill you it would be nice to at least have an audience!

Date: 2020-02-19 03:18 pm (UTC)[ McBurn was amused that he was in the new wear but it's not bad to do new fashion statements. Though he honestly couldn't be bothered to do one himself unless he was forced somehow.
He was at least waiting outside of the house door, as if expecting the other. ]
Sounds to me like you're feeling already bloodthirsty and we haven't fought this week, but we could change that up. Though I can't say I'm too fond of an audience myself.

I want to watch you all make each other cry. Salt water. Oceans. It's in my nature. I've accepted it now.
[He tilts his head. No tears form behind his glasses.]
We think I'm overstepping a tad. You had your own reasons for summoning me; feel free to come out with them.

Date: 2020-02-20 06:20 pm (UTC)Sure you do. Maybe you'll find an easier time of that taking a swim in the pool.
[ He'll lean against the door, electing not to bring out his sword for now, then. But he was always eager to do so when in the case of a worthy rival. ]
It's not a big deal. Just was wondering about what kind of reaction it'd get to drag you out here for a chat in the middle of the night.

Date: 2020-02-21 04:34 am (UTC)Well, unlike some Strangers, [gee wonder which ones] at least you're open-minded enough to wait for the reaction before you decide what it's going to be. I have to give you credit for that. If you're ever going to end up in an interface situation like mine, you'll benefit from your flexible approach.

Date: 2020-02-22 04:49 pm (UTC)[ McBurn couldn't say he had any interest in taking a swim in the pool himself, as Estelle learned, but it seemed to be different for other people. Except maybe Hiyori. ]
Deciding how someone's gonna react before they did would take the fun out of it.
And in a battle, you can't be sure until the moment they prepare to strike.
